Who We Are

We serve approximately 45,000 residents across 2,200 square miles of Montrose County. Our responsibilities include law enforcement, investigations, civil process, traffic enforcement, court security, and detentions.
The Sheriff’s Office includes:
• 90+ dedicated employees in Patrol, Detentions, Civil, Records, Victim Advocacy, and Administration
• 40+ volunteers in the Sheriff’s Posse supporting search & rescue, wildfire response, traffic control, crime scene security, and public outreach
