Greetings Montrose County Resident,
We need your help!
As Montrose County continues to grow and evolve, ensuring the safety of our community becomes more complex for my team and me. Fortunately, thanks to programs like Neighborhood Watch, led by dedicated volunteers, we are seeing meaningful progress.
The mission of Neighborhood Watch is to bring together a group of people living in the same area who want to make their neighborhood safer by working together, and in conjunction with the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office, to reduce crime and improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods.
We’re reaching out to residential communities, HOAs, and HOA management companies to help us strengthen and expand the Neighborhood Watch program across Montrose County. Please consider forwarding this letter to your HOA leadership. We invite everyone to discover just how easy and impactful it is to start a Neighborhood Watch in their neighborhood.
Our goal is to schedule an informal meeting with members of your group, a Neighborhood Watch volunteer, and a representative from our Community Services office.
If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out:
- Community Services: 970-252-4003
- Montrose County Neighborhood Watch – Voice mail: 970-252-4499

By working together, we can build a safer, stronger community for ourselves and future generations.
I appreciate your support.
Sincerely,
Sheriff Gene R. Lillard
