Montrose Prepared Response (MPR) is a volunteer organization made up of community members who support the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office during natural or civil emergencies.
Montrose Prepared Response operates strictly at the request and under the direction of the Sheriff.
The organization originated as a community response to civil unrest in larger cities during the summer of 2020.
Mission Statement:
The mission of We the People of Montrose Prepared Response is to prepare, organize, and train, in order to come together upon the request of the Montrose County Sheriff, ready to provide assistance at his discretion and direction, supporting him in his duties aligned with the United States Constitution and our God-given liberties.
Action Statement:
A resilient individual, family, and community is the foundation of an assembly capable of managing emergencies without crisis and, therefore, capable of responding to the Sheriff in difficult circumstances. It is MPR’s intent to encourage, train and practice community preparedness, independent living and resilience beginning with the participants in MPR and then to the wider community.
Montrose Prepared Response actively supports the Sheriff’s Neighborhood Watch program and offers training in medical trauma response, hand-held radio communications, and individual and neighborhood safety.
Montrose Prepared Response has an established Food Security Work Group to assess local and regional food supply risks and implement strategies to mitigate food uncertainty in the time of need.
For those interested in participating Montrose Prepared Response or seeking further information, please email mpremail@protonmail.com or contact the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office.
Together, we can strengthen our community and be ready when help is needed.
