Montrose County Undersheriff Adam MurdieMontrose, COLO.— The Montrose County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) would like to recognize and honor Undersheriff Adam Murdie for over 21 years of service to the MCSO. Undersheriff Murdie resigned effective December 14 to pursue other opportunities.

“Adam has been a critical piece of the MCSO,” said Sheriff Rick Dunlap. “His leadership, dedication, and commitment to integrity will be missed. Adam was instrumental in upgrading MCSO technology from paper to online systems, enhancing training standards, creating new policies and procedures, and helping procure state-of-the-art equipment to enhance safety of the deputies and the public. I wish him the best of luck in the future.”

“I have enjoyed serving the citizens of Montrose as a whole,” said Undersheriff Murdie. “My time at the Sheriff’s Office has been a blessing and my family there will be greatly missed. Thank you to everyone.”

Undersheriff Murdie began his career at the MCSO in the jail and was ultimately promoted to undersheriff in 2012. His duties as undersheriff included preparing a balanced budget, managing nearly 100 employees, and overseeing jail operations.
