Montrose, COLO.—On Sept. 5 around 9am, WestCO Dispatch received a call reporting an individual with a gunshot wound in the 15000 block of O74 Road east of Montrose. First responders were dispatched to the scene and located a male victim who was deceased. After further investigation, deputies were able to make contact with the suspect, Mr. Miller, via telephone as phone service in the area was poor. The suspect returned to the scene and was taken into custody.
Deputies arrested Mark Miller, 64, of Montrose, Colo., for second degree murder. Mr. Miller is being held on a $75,000 bond in the Montrose County Jail.

The victim is identified as Jonas Najar Junior, a 41-year-old male from Olathe, Colo., by Montrose County Coroner Rick Fellabaum. At this time, the cause and manner of death are under investigation by the Montrose County Coroner’s Office and an autopsy is pending. The incident is under investigation by the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
