About MCSO
Montrose County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has been serving Montrose and surrounding communities since 1876. The MCSO has over 100 employees who work in the Patrol Division, Communications, Detention Center, Work Release, Civil Office, Victims Advocate, Records, and Sheriff’s Office Administration. Additionally, there are 37 volunteers of the Sheriff’s Posse who are responsible for coordinating Search and Rescue efforts in Montrose County. The MCSO believes in the provisions set forth in the Constitution of the United States of America. Within the halls of the MCSO, you will find copies of the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution or the “Bill of Rights” posted in high profile areas.
